Off the wagon

Ok, so I fell off the posting wagon.

I've been quite busy caching. I've now posted 7 caches! 2 puzzles, a multi and four traditional. I've got a lot more in my head, but actually getting around to stetting the up takes a lot of time!

I've also just recently hit 100 finds with the 10th Anniversary event cache in Villiersdorp (GC26RM6)

The flys have also begun a blog that will likely be a lot more useful than mine :)

Now that winter is here, I'm wondering if I'll get a chance to get out much...

Words with all letters different

I found this while researching a puzzle cache.

Words with all letters different
This is an amazing resource for finding cypher keywords.
It contains words that have no repeating letters organized by word length and starting letter. way cool.

For example, there are 6 words that are 12 letters long starting with 'C'
cabinetworks
centrifugals
computerniks
considerably
counterplays
countervails

uncopyrightable is another great example

This page is from the FBI website: Also very cool

Second Cache and first event cache

We posted our second cache recently (Gardens Puzzler 2 - GCC2520Q). Aparently it was too easy We even had a complaint it wasn't hard enough! So we made it harder and it seems to have worked as I just got an email from a cacher crying uncle.

We also went to our first event cache and it was way awesome. nICE event (GC2480V). We are an amazing community. I don't know why I like caching so much, but I do.

First Cache

So I posted my first cache last weekend. Garden's Puzzler (GC24DTV)
It is a puzzle cache that I spent quite a long time preparing. Both the puzzle and the cache container. I meant it to be easy, but not stupid easy. I was amazed when the FTF came mere hours after posting.

Comments include compliments such as "Oh thank you, thank you for placing a puzzle that I can solve"

My next puzzle will need to be much harder.

Still, I've learned a lot about placement, the community and how the processes works. I really have appreciated the comments and messages I've received. I will try to be a bit less laconic in my future logs. I've also really enjoyed the interaction. People came. I have been stopping myself from visiting constantly to avoid attention. It is the same urge I get to view IP hits on a blog post. People are listening. So thank you Cape Town for being so clever.

New Blog!

I'm a pretty new cacher living in Cape Town. I've fallen in love with the game. I've decided to create a blog for me to put interesting things I find regarding Caching, and caching in SA specifically. Hope I actually keep it up.
